ICL Hosts IOSH Site Visit Showcasing New PAC Manufacturing Process at West Thurrock - ICL

On Friday 3rd October 2025, ICL was pleased to welcome members of the IOSH Hazardous Industries Community to our West Thurrock site for an exclusive visit focused on industrial safety and collaboration.

The event offered attendees a behind-the-scenes look at our new Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC) manufacturing process, which is currently in the commissioning stage. The new facility represents a major investment for ICL and demonstrates our continued commitment to sustainable operations within the water treatment sector.

A Milestone Event

The commissioning of the new PAC plant marks a significant moment for ICL and the local area. It also supports the transition from our long-serving PAC plant at Titan Works in Grays, which has supported customers for many years.

Collaboration and Safety in Focus

The visit was organised by Chris Ryan, West Thurrock Health & Safety Manager, whose coordination helped bring together professionals from across the hazardous industries community.

Guests from IOSH received a guided tour of the site and had the opportunity to speak directly with ICL’s team about safe operations and the measures taken to ensure sustainable and responsible manufacturing.

Feedback from IOSH participants was very positive, with one attendee noting:

“What a great opportunity to visit a unique industrial site. Thank you to IOSH Essex Community and Chris Ryan for arranging this. Thank you, Chris, and team for hosting us. Great to see the new PAC plant and to hear of the process.”

Strengthening Industry Connections

Partnering with IOSH to host this visit reflects ICL’s ongoing commitment to safety leadership, sustainability, and collaboration across the hazardous industries community. Events like this provide valuable opportunities to share experiences, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional networks that support safe and sustainable industrial practices.

Looking Ahead

As commissioning continues, ICL remains focused on maintaining safe, responsible, and sustainable operations. We thank IOSH, Chris Ryan, and all attendees for contributing to a successful and engaging event.
