Supporting Local Youth Through Sport: ICL Donates £5,000 to Tumble, Twist & Turn Gymnastics Club - ICL

Supporting local communities and creating opportunities for young people has led to a recent partnership between ICL and local gymnastics club Tumble, Twist & Turn.

ICL has donated £5,000 to the club to fund the purchase of an additional inflatable sprung air track mat — equipment that will significantly expand training capacity and help more young people take part in gymnastics.

The donation comes as part of ICL’s commitment to supporting local initiatives close to its Widnes operation. The club was introduced to the company through ICL employee Ian Harry, whose daughter attends the sessions and has seen first-hand the positive impact the club has on its members.

Creating Opportunities for Young People

Founded just five years ago, Tumble, Twist & Turn has quickly become a thriving hub for young people in the community. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, professionalism and strong community spirit, the club offers a range of classes for children and teenagers aged 4 to 18.

Sessions are designed to be inclusive and accessible, with mixed-ability classes alongside dedicated SEN sessions, ensuring that children of all backgrounds and abilities can enjoy gymnastics, develop new skills and build confidence.

The new inflatable sprung air track mat will play a key role in helping the club continue its growth. By effectively doubling the training capacity, it will allow more children to participate and give existing members more space and time to practise safely.

A Boost for an Inclusive Club

Stacey Crook, Owner of Tumble, Twist & Turn, said the donation will make a meaningful difference to the club and the young people who attend.

“We’re incredibly grateful to ICL for their generous £5,000 donation, which has enabled us to purchase an additional sprung air track mat for the club. This equipment will make a huge difference to our training capacity and means we can welcome even more young people into gymnastics.

At the club we offer a wide range of classes for children and young people aged 3 to 18, including mixed-ability sessions and dedicated SEN classes, ensuring gymnastics is accessible to everyone in our community. Support like this from ICL helps us continue providing opportunities for local young people to build confidence, develop skills and enjoy being active. We’re very thankful for their support.”

A Personal Connection

For Ian Harry, the club’s impact is personal. Watching his daughter grow in confidence and ability through gymnastics inspired him to highlight the club’s work internally at ICL.

“My daughter absolutely loves attending Tumble, Twist & Turn. The coaches are incredibly supportive, and the club has such a positive, inclusive atmosphere. Seeing the difference, it makes to the children who attend is fantastic.

This donation will help the club welcome even more young people and give them the opportunity to develop their skills, build friendships and stay active. I’m proud that ICL can support something that means so much to the local community.”

Strengthening the Community

Clubs like Tumble, Twist & Turn play an important role beyond sport — creating safe spaces where young people can socialise, stay active and develop confidence. With strong community values, a professional coaching environment and a commitment to inclusivity, the club has become a valued local hub for families.

Through this donation, ICL is helping ensure that even more children can experience the benefits of gymnastics and the supportive community the club has built over the past five years.
