Monday to Friday, working hours are 09:00am – 17:00pm (Flexibility required for shipments)

Purpose of the role

The Jetty Assistant Manager is responsible for planning and the safe operation of the Jetty, including operators, ships and trucks.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure the safety of the Jetty Operators
Select and issue work to the Jetty Operators
Plan and schedule ships, trucks and labour
Liaise efficiently and safely with other site personnel
Control all activities using personnel efficiently
Follow the procedures in the management system to ensure compliance with all standards
Provide daily supervision to the jetty operators and to maintenance technicians
Maintain an efficient operation
Provide hands-on assistance in the discharge of both bulk dry and liquid cargos when needed
Assist the jetty manager in his Port Facility Security Officer role
Train to become a Deputy Port Facility Security Officer
