Site Engineer

Purpose of the role

Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient asset integrity of site assets, with a focus on regulatory compliance, ongoing maintenance, management of change, project delivery and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Performance and Compliance Monitoring

• Ensure all data needed for the Process Safety Performance indicators are submitted accurately and on time for the PSPSI monthly report
• Provide continuous development & performance monitoring for the engineering team including management of training programs and staff competence.
• Responsible for defining & producing performance reports related to all engineering activities.

Risk Assessment & Permit to Work

• Complete all duties as a permit issuer for specialist permits on site within the Permit to Work system.
• Supervise the compliance of all controls identified in risk assessments and safe systems of work

Inspection and Maintenance Management

• Provide effective leadership on site in the areas of Process Safety including delivery of maintenance programs, asset integrity and projects.
• Assess and realise resource requirements for all inspection, maintenance & project activities.

Emergency Preparedness Response

• Assist Site Manager in the development of site Emergency Preparedness Plans.
• Act as Site Incident or Main Controller as part of Duty Manager responsibilities.

SHEQ Management

• Apply the SHEQ policy across site and implement knowledge gained within industry to process operations.
• Assist the site manager in providing effective SHEQ leadership and report any incident observed on site.
• Provide training to personnel and contractors as required and monitor their performance in line with site procedures.
• Implement all site procedures, which consider legislation requirements and assist the site manager in managing SHEQ related projects and undertaking COMAH obligations.
• Enforce site procedures, to ensure safe operations & functionality of equipment and ensure that inspection and maintenance is performed in line with regulatory requirements.
• Implement procedures in place during events outside of normal operating conditions.
• Assist the site manager in assessing compliance with the MAPP and the performance of the SMS, by undertaking site performance monitoring and collecting PSPI data
