Shift Chargehand

Purpose of the role

The shift chargehand is responsible for oversee the day to day running of the operation is safe, on quality and on time to fulfil customer demands as well as providing leadership for the operators’ duty.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure all routine checks, daily reports and sample regimes are followed
• Follow the procedures in the Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems to ensure compliance with all standards for the plant
• Ensure daily plant checks are completed, and reported on FSI
• Ensure adequate risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed for all activities
• Follow a rigorous inspection program for all equipment on site
• Provide effective day to day supervision of the shift operational teams
• Assist with the communication on site as requested by the site incident controller or the site main controller and if needed, act as Site Incident or Main Controller
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are keep on the plant
• Any other reasonable duty as identified by the ICL senior management team to satisfy business needs, within the role holders capability & with sufficient training
• Shift Chargehand will be trained on the new ‘Permit to Work’ system, be expected manage contractors and employees.

Key Skills:

• Excellent communicator (verbal & written)
• Ability to lead teams
• Familiarity with various MS packages (IT)
• Awareness of SHEQ Management Systems
