Purpose of the role
The shift process operator is responsible for overseeing the production process of a chemical plant facility. The goal of a shift process operator is to monitor equipment and improve the quality, efficiency and safety of the manufacturing plant.
Key Accountabilities
Use of Data Acquisition software to monitor the condition of process parameters
Reading instruments and making adjustments to settings as required
Packing and storing finished batches
Manual operation of valves, pumps and set points.
Taking scheduled samples for lab or on plant self-analysis.
Supervision of goods in and out, including loading unloading of road tankers and using forklift trucks.
Physical data logging onto paper records for archiving.
Some manual work including cleaning and replacing filters etc
Ensure that any problems are reported to the relevant manager/department immediately
Ensure that personal protective clothing is worn at all times.
Previous chemical process experiences an advantage
Attention to detail
Good working knowledge of MS office application
