ICL is working towards full implementation of its health and safety management system.
Health, safety and the welfare of its workforce are paramount and are managed from director to operator level, which is the key to a successful system.
One of the main tools for reducing risks in the workplace is information and training. ICL have an extensive training repertoire with first aid, forklift, and chemical awareness to name but a few of the training courses provided. Confined space working is carried out daily on the plant, which is a hazardous exercise if not controlled in the correct way, this requires in depth training by outside providers over a three day period, this course is for rescue techniques and is an important part of the companies Confined space procedures and goes some way to being compliant with current regulations.
ICL are also for the past three years members of the British Safety Council and benefit from the membership by the way of excellent training courses and information provided.
Minimising the risk to people and plant at ICL is inseparable from all other company objectives.
