When Industrial Chemicals purchased it’s premises at West Thurrock in Essex, it not only acquired a very versatile 60 acre industrial site, but being situated on the River Thames and having one of the deepest jettys in the Greater London area ICL also found itself In a strategic and advantageous position for the loading and discharge of bulk materials being transported via river or ocean going vessels.
2008 will see a huge investment and refurbishment program for our jetty, including the refurbishment of a large conveyor to storage system allowing us to quickly and efficiently discharge large volumes of bulk products and transport them undercover directly to new dry storage areas. This period also see’s ICL investing in new bulk discharge equipment in the form of two heavy duty cranes, swiewertel and a Double Boom Level Lufting crane, couple these with our on site weigh bridges this gives us the ability to discharge vessels direct to trucks more efficiently.
Mounted on a semitrailer the 15 000 S unit is port mobile or road mobile and suitable for ships up to about 15,000 dwt. The unit is permanently based for Industrial Chemicals use, but is available for mobile applications on enquiry. The unit is designed for dust free offloading, using integral dust extraction systems.
The unloading capacities range from about 200t/h up to 550t/h (550t/h is valid for the 15 000 S unit when unloading cement). Among the commodities handled are Sodium Sulphate and Aluminium TriHydroxide.
